I stopped by Petco to examine the aquariums and was just reminded why ferrets are among my very favorite animals of all time.

How would you like it if you were in a cage and ppl constantly walked up and tapped on the glass and recorded you running around? Come on lol

It’s amazing how some people are so performative they see a video of a happy animal engaged in play and decide that, because it was filmed, somehow this ferret was forced to do something it didn’t want. Forced through the glass, somehow. Amazing. Simply mind boggling

I want to put you in a glass cage and tap on the glass for you and take a video for my entertainment. LoL just because they are eager to interact does not mean you should tap on the glass. Period. You did it to take a video. period. You didn’t do it for the ferret.

I was playing with this ferret for five minutes before I took this video. It’s not a trained ferret. I am not exploiting it. It does not care that it is being filmed. The brief, light tap I made on the glass is no louder nor more disturbing than the sound that would be made by gently closing the lid of the cage or from one of the toys bouncing against the side of the enclosure during play. I don’t think you understand just how light my tiny tap was. The situation you witness here is more similar to gently knocking on a door to announce your presence to someone who has been expecting you.

I’m not sure why you want to put me in a cage and film me. If that’s something you’re interested in exploring, I’m sure you can find consenting partners elsewhere.

Source: glumshoe i get the whole respect animals thing but op is right like honestly that person went too fat trying to reach for a reason to get mad when the tap was only to gain the ferret’s attention again after it had lost where op was op was playing with the ferret and the tap wasnt malicious at all op couldve just banged on the glass and frightened the ferret if their intentions were at all malicious so i mean fuck that person whos trying to reach with yelling at someone whos just playing with an animal trying to defend it when it really didnt need defending 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

nah i just changed urls a few times. i came out and transitioned, graduated college, and got an amazing girlfriend who lights up my life. i had to delete the queued update to this post that said 8400 days for my 23rd birthday because i’m in a really good place right now.

to everyone struggling: it really does get better.
